The history of the town of Jaffa provides the background for Kamal Aljafari’s film, centering on his mother’s family at risk of eviction if they can’t find proof that the house they have lived in for decades belongs to them.
The films in this screening investigate the materiality of digital media and networks, from digitally generated images to high-speed network cables, making visible the power structures and mechanisms that shape our increasingly mediated world.

In this talk, artist Not Vital will present his sculptural practice, which ranges from the abstract to the figurative, and which often portrays ambiguous narratives that are connected with dreams and memory.
