In this talk, Richard A. Chahine will present his archive, which he generously donated to the Museum in 2015. The archive includes materials that document over 400 artists in Lebanon as well as extensive research on regional cultural heritage.

To support the activities of ASSABIL and public libraries in Lebanon, the artwork The Library (1999), donated by Mohammad El Rawas, will be used to raise funds for the association. To mark the fundraiser, a conversation between author Nazik Saba Yared and poet Antoine Boulad will take place at the Sursock Museum.

There’s a difference between what a painter tries to make you see and the brush marks with which he or she tries to make you see it. This talk will be about a moment where the movement of the painter’s hand comes to seem crucial, but also where the question of what exactly moving your hand is becomes controversial.
