This concert is part of an ongoing series of classical music performances by emerging and established musicians, organized by Mozart Chahine.
Maguy Abillama is known for introducing the pan flute to Lebanon and the region. She completed her musical studies in Paris, and also studied under Romanian pan flutist Gheorghe Zamfir. She has performed locally and internationally, and actively participates in festivals. Abillama is a laureate of poet and philosopher Said Akl and has been awarded the international prize from Radio Monte Carlo in Monaco for “Echo de la Grotte de Jeita.”
Yervant Baghdjian is a graduate of the Conservatoire National Supérieure de Musique, Lebanon. Early in his career, Baghdjianwas inspired by Vrou Mazmanian, Joseph Ichkhanian, and Jean Beujekian. He currently teaches Spanish guitar from renaissance, baroque, to modern classical styles.
Nabil Said Jaafar is a music composer based in Lebanon, best known for producing folklore music. Jaafar has been a composer and professor of music at the Conservatoire National Supérieure de Musique, Lebanon for nearly three decades. He has performed internationally and locally at festivals and conferences.
