Content into Form: Bookmaking Workshop

The book has long been a format explored and subverted by artists and designers. In this practical workshop, you will explore both traditional and experimental ways of bookmaking, from design and layout to different binding techniques.

Led by illustrator and bookmaker Joseph Kai (Samandal) along with illustrator Raphaelle Macaron, this four-part workshop will guide you through how to design, layout, print, and bind a book, in both traditional and experimental ways. You will learn how to use different block printing techniques to create original artwork for your book. You will also learn how to challenge the rules of bookmaking to create your very own limited edition publication.
