Chinese Ink is a film haunted by death and casualties and marked by Lebanon’s story, harking back to generations for who autobiography and national history are inextricably bound by one another.
Ghassan Salhab (b. 1958, Senegal) is a filmmaker and writer. He has directed eight full-length films: The River (2021), An open Rose/Warda (2019), The Valley (2014), The Mountain (2010), 1958 (2009), The Last Man (2006), Terra Incognita (2003), and Beyrouth Fantôme (1998). He is the author of two books and various bilingual texts. Salhab often collaborates with different filmmakers and teaches film in several universities in Lebanon.
