Mahmoud Darwich Poetry Night

In France, between September 25 and 27, as part of the Mediterranean Season 2026, the Centre Pompidou is joining forces with the Institut du monde arabe to celebrate Mahmoud Darwich, a major figure in Arab and world poetry. At the same time, around thirty venues around the world are celebrating Mahmoud Darwich, each with its own artistic program.

In Beirut, the event will take place on September 25 and is organized by the Maison Internationale des Écrivains à Beyrouth (Beyt El Kottab), under the artistic direction of Charif Majdalani and Rima Abdul Malak, in partnership with the Centre Pompidou, with the support of L’Orient-Le Jour, the Institut français du Liban and the Sursock Museum, and under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture.

Free admission, no booking required. Entry is subject to availability.

7:00 pm : Film screening (Auditorium)

Mahmoud Darwich: Et la terre, comme la langue, a film by Simone Bitton and Elias Sanbar, in french and arabic with  subtitles in french.

8:15 pm : Poetry reading with live music (Auditorium)

En France, dans le cadre de la Saison Méditerranée 2026, le Centre Pompidou s’associe à l’Institut du monde arabe du 25 au 27 septembre pour célébrer Mahmoud Darwich, figure majeure de la poésie arabe et mondiale. Dans le même temps, une trentaine de lieux à travers le monde célèbrent Mahmoud Darwich, chacun à travers une programmation artistique singulière.

À Beyrouth, l’événement se déroulera le 25 september et est organisé par la Maison Internationale des Écrivains (Beyt El Kottab), sous la direction artistique de Charif Majdalani et Rima Abdul Malak, en partenariat avec le Centre Pompidou, avec le soutien de L’Orient-Le Jour, de l’Institut français du Liban et du Sursock Museum, et sous le patronage du ministère de la Culture.

Entrée libre, sans réservation, dans la limite des places disponibles.

في إطار "موسم البحر الأبيض المتوسط" التي تجري فعالياته في فرنسا، يتعاون مركز بومبيدو مع معهد العالم العربي من ٢٥ إلى ٢٧ أيلول للاحتفاء بمحمود درويش، أحد أبرز رموز الشعر العربي والعالمي. وفي الوقت نفسه، تحتفي نحو ثلاثين مؤسسة وموقعًا ثقافيًا حول العالم بمحمود درويش، من خلال برامج فنية خاصة بها.
أمّا في بيروت، فينظّم البيت الدولي للكتّاب (بيت الكتّاب) هذه الفعالية في ٢٥ أيلول، بإدارة فنية من شريف مجدلاني وريما عبد الملك، بالشراكة مع مركز بومبيدو، وبدعم من «لوريان لوجور» والمعهد الفرنسي في لبنان ومتحف سرسق، وبرعاية وزارة الثقافة.
